About the Lubbock NAACP Branch

Founded February 12, 1909, the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation’s foremost, largest, and most widely recognized civil rights organization.

Its more than half-million members and supporters throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, leading grassroots campaigns for equal opportunity and conducting voter mobilization.

The Lubbock Branch is a non-profit organizational unit of the NAACP. It was reestablished in 2017 to help the un-served and under-served communities of color within Lubbock County.

Governed by a dedicated group of volunteer members, the NAACP Lubbock Branch partakes in a myriad of civil rights and social justice initiatives.

Services are provided at no cost to the community and include, but are not limited to, Civic Engagement, Legal Redress, and Health and Educational Advocacy.
